Främby Udde Camping and Conference is beautifully situated by the shores of Lake Runn with its many islands and is only 4 kms from the town centre of Falun. In 2006 Falun took second place in the national competition for best town centre and it's mine "The Great Copper Mountain" is part of UNESCO:s World Heritage List. Opened in 2006, Främby Udde Camping and Conference is owned and run by two families from Falun whose main common interest is caring for their guests. The genuine "Grosshandlar-villa" from 1897, is the heart of the establishment and houses a fully-licensed restaurant, an ice-cream parlour and a conference floor. Today, the site comprises 43 caravan lots (all with electricity), 3 newly-built 6-bed cabins as well as separate rooms. Or, if you prefer, you can pitch your tent by the edge of the lake. We continue to develop the centre and take great care not to harm the environment.

Directions

From the No. 50 main road, exit at Tallens shopping centre (City Gross) and follow the signs to Främby. Turn off at Falu Riding Club and continue out to Främby Udde.

From the No. 80 main road, drive towards the town centre, turn off at the crossroads Gruvgatan/Myntgatan and follow the signs to Främby and Källviken. Turn off at Falu Riding Club and continue out to Främby Udde.

Conferences/Corporate Activities/Celebrations

It is becoming increasingly popular to hold conferences at camping sites where beautiful surroundings and a quiet and relaxing atmosphere can be successfully combined with a host of different activities. Our conference rooms are best suited for groups of 20 or less but larger groups can be accommodated depending on required seating arrangements.

Kick-Off:s and corporate functions are our speciality. Allow us to suggest a winning concept with or without activities. Whether you opt for quiet and informal or fun and games you can be sure of excellent food and wines.

Private functions and family occasions

The entire villa, or if you wish just part of it, is at your disposal. We'll take care of food and drinks and will be happy to help you in any way we can. Many have found the beautiful surroundings and the magnificent villa to be the perfect setting for their wedding celebrations. Civil or Church ceremonies can be held either outdoors on our landing stage or in one of the villa:s beautiful rooms. Perhaps you'd like to take a cruise on the lake with your guests before the ceremony.

Lake Runn with its many islands is unique. Stretching from Falun to Borlänge it is extremely popular amongst pleasure craft owners. It's perfect for kayaking - bring your own or hire on the spot (if possible please book before you arrive). Why not go ashore on one of the islands and enjoy a picnic? Or, pitch your tent for the night!

If you prefer paddling a canoe, take a trip down the Sundborn river into Lake Runn. Whether you decide on a short trip or a long one, on Lake Runn or elsewhere, Runns Sjöbod will help you make the most of it. The lake is just as fantastic in winter. Thanks to Runn-Is (a non-profit organization) there are miles of ice-skating loops and tracks. Book a skating weekend with full board! Stay in one of our modern cabins and let us take care of you. Relax in our outdoor, wood-fired hot-tub under the stars before dinner. Why not take a longer lunch-break and do a spot of skating? Afterwards you can take the chill off with a steaming bowl of soup in our restaurant. Or, visit us on a Friday evening when the lake is lit up by torches and moonlight and listen to live After Skate entertainment in our cosy pub.
